Throughout our time here we've enjoyed the sounds of what seems like an unusual abundance of robins. They are not only abundant, but also joyously noisy! We encountered this robin on our walk, and in a very short time watched him/her pull 3 juicy worms out of a fence row, not in the least disturbed by us or the camera.

It's always worth a grin to see this resident's humorous almost-lifesize bear carving peeking in their window. The home is right across the highway from the rv park, is beautifully maintained,
and exhibits interesting architectural detail. Architectural design and detail is a favorite visual study of mine, and Lake City buildings provide a feast, as you will see as we move on through this year's blog.
I intend to continue recording sights and signs that demonstrate the unique character of the town....the good, the bad, and the ugly.

At the Backpackers Mercantile store nearby, Edmund got intimate with their front porch moose & bear.

The lady who operates this business also works at Walmart in Gunnison, lives there, drives back and forth on the days she comes to Lake City. We recently bumped into her at G's Walmart and she repeated to us what she'd said last year--she remains on Walmart's minimum required payroll to retain her insurance benefits. A hardy lady!
